Frequently asked questions
What should I bring to a notarization?
Please have a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, state ID or passport. Everyone who is signing needs their own ID.
Please don't sign your document beforehand. You must sign in front of the notary. Make sure the document is complete, with no blank spaces, before we arrive.
How much do notary services cost?
Notary fees are set by New Jersey law, and we follow those legal limits. Because we come to you, there may be a travel fee. We'll always quote it upfront, before your appointment, so there are no surprises.
What documents do I need for tax season?
It helps to gather the following:
- Photo ID for you (and your spouse, if filing jointly)
- Social Security cards or ITIN letters for everyone on the return
- W-2s from every employer, and any 1099 forms (contract work, interest, unemployment, retirement)
- Form 1095-A if you had Marketplace health insurance
- Records for deductions or credits: mortgage interest (1098), property taxes or rent paid, child care costs, college tuition (1098-T), student loan interest
- Last year's tax return, if you have it
- Bank routing and account numbers for direct deposit of your refund

How does secure document upload work?
After you contact us, we'll send you a private, secure upload link. Your files are encrypted while they're being sent and stored, and only we can see them.
Please never send Social Security numbers, tax forms or ID images by regular email, text message or through our website contact form.
Can you help me start an LLC?
Yes. We can walk you through the process and prepare and file the paperwork: forming your LLC with the State of New Jersey, applying for your EIN with the IRS, and registering your business for New Jersey taxes.
We are not attorneys, so we can't advise you on which business structure is best for your situation. For that kind of advice, please speak with an attorney or accountant.
Who gets the marriage license, and when?
The couple applies for a marriage license at the local registrar's office in New Jersey before the wedding. There is a waiting period after you apply, so plan ahead.
On the wedding day, we complete and sign the marriage certificate with you and your witnesses, and return it to the registrar as required.
Do you offer remote online notarization?
Not yet, but it's coming soon. For now, we offer mobile notary visits at your home or another convenient location.
